Our roots lie in another ceramics company (est. 1984) founded by our beloved matriarch, Paciencia. It started serendipitously--with a wrong delivery. She had ordered some garden soil, only to receive mounds of clay. Heeding the requests of friends and family to start a small business with this clay to provide livelihood to neighbors, and despite her reservations (she had no experience with ceramics and was a 50-year-old government employee!), she decided to open a small terracotta factory.
This ultimate blessing in disguise was taken further by Paciencia's children, who took their humble provincial set-up global, becoming a trusted partner of retailers all over the world. Tanterra Home is the 3rd generation's way to continue this legacy.
With Tanterra, we hope to share more than the beauty of our handmade, 100% Filipino products. We want to shine the light on our community of artisans, who have decades' worth of experience in transforming clay into masterpieces. With you, we want to preserve the art of pottery while we celebrate beauty, creativity and joy!
